It’s called crazy paving due to the irregular layout of broken paving slabs, the style of which originated in Ancient Rome. It’s not necessarily cheaper or better than standard block paving (such as our most common block paving service – Indian sandstone block paving), because of the effort of placing broken blocks in this chaotic way, (whereas large paving slabs cover more area with each lay of the stone). Crazy paving does however offer a durable, hard wearing surface which can be easily maintained.

Once we’ve laid your patio or driveway, you’ll be able to maintain your paving yourself, without the need to call our crazy paving contractors. Cleaning crazy paving is fairly easy. Water, soap and a scrub with a yard brush will usually do, although a jet wash every couple of years is recommended to keep it in tip-top condition. After some years, crazy paving can sometimes need to be re-pointed due to cement failure, though this can be carried out by a competent DIY person.
